The event served as a reminder of the progress that has been made in advancing gender equality and empowering women in various aspects in the district. It also highlighted the ongoing challenges and barriers that women continue to face, such as gender-based violence, lack of access to education and healthcare, and limited representation in leadership positions. By acknowledging International Women's Day, management of the Assembly has established its commitment to advancing the rights and opportunities of women in the community and beyond. It also is important to recognize the significance of International Women's Day and the efforts being made to promote gender equality and women's empowerment. The observance of this day, could contribute to creating a more inclusive and equitable society where women have equal access to opportunities and resources.
